Development Associate

Position Description

The Children's Alliance of New Hampshire, a state wide advocacy organization working to improve the health and wellbeing of the children of New Hampshire, is seeking a Development Associate. The Development Associate is responsible for planning and implementing a range of development, marketing and communication strategies. This position reports to the President and provides support to Board of Directors and its development and communication committee.

Responsibilities

The Development Associate will have job responsibilities in two major areas: fund development and public engagement. Specific responsibilities include:

Plan, coordinate, and manage all development initiatives, including solicitation and reporting for all grants, major gifts, corporate support, and individual donors.

Create fundraising materials such as direct mail appeals, funding proposals, donor acknowledgement letters, and other informational materials that support the development program.

Maintain relations with existing donors and build new relationships with potential donors.

Plan and coordinate special events, including developing corporate sponsorships.

Develop and implement public outreach to build a stronger voice for children.

Develop mechanisms to track outreach methods and messages and evaluate effectiveness.

Provide staff support to the Board of Directors and its committees,

Manage the publication of annual report and organizational newsletter.

Represent CANH at public events.

Special tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a college degree and specific work experience in development and marketing. Superb communication skills, exemplary writing skills, ability to work with team, and enthusiasm for child health and wellbeing are essential. Advanced degree preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Full Time Salary Range: $36,000 - $42,000. Competitive benefits package.
