Current issues
The Children's Alliance of New Hampshire
fights for change at the local, state and national levels, within both
the public and the private sectors.
Our work includes testimony before House
and Senate committees on pending bills and position
papers on current issues. It also includes working with news reporters
to produce accurate stories on children's issues, writing newspaper
commentaries and letters, and networking with other advocacy groups,
agencies and organizations to ensure that our message reaches a wide
audience. Most recently, our efforts have focused on school readiness,
child protection, economic security, and health and wellness.
Along with other child and family advocates around the state, the Children's
Alliance is deeply concerned about the impact of the state's budget
and in particular, education funding, on children and families. We believe
a responsible budget is one that invests in prevention and sets a high
value on the health and well-being of our most vulnerable citizens.
